The painting "Blue art" by Asahi Tanaka, installed on the wall of mameruku coffee, a specialty coffee shop in Hirado, Nagasaki. The owner, Mr. Sugiyama, is pictured in the foreground preparing pour-over coffee.

The coffee is brewed by Sugiyama-kun, the owner of this café. Having experience as a former carpenter, he even built the café building himself.

The First Chapter: "bamboo scratch" (March 14 - May 27, 2014)

Before the blue piece, this artwork graced the space of Mameluke Coffee for a brief period of two months.

An archival photograph of "bamboo scratch" by Asahi Tanaka, the very first painting displayed at mameruku coffee in Hirado, Nagasaki, during its opening weeks. This artwork occupied the same space where "Blue art" hangs today, making this a rare view of the cafe's original interior.
"bamboo scratch," a large F30 size minimalist abstract painting by Asahi Tanaka, featuring a highly textured, scraped surface of white and earth tones with fine, vertical pencil marks reminiscent of bamboo stalks.

The size of this piece is also F30 (910 x 727 mm), the same as the blue artwork mentioned above.
