This work carries seven years within it. The deep ground of purple and white was laid down first — then left. Seven years passed before the white crayon lines were drawn over it.

That span of time is held inside the painting now. The title came from what emerged: fractured shapes like a map not yet resolved, a sense of being inside a labyrinth, the feeling of reconstruction still underway — a place not yet found.
