This work is part of a series using the silhouettes of distinctive leaves as its subject. A full-scale copy of an actual leaf was collaged onto the panel, then worked over with acrylic paint, pencil, colored pencil, and crayon.

The leaf used here is Monstera — its dramatically cut and perforated form has become a global design icon. In this painting, only the silhouette was taken, letting that familiar shape appear in an entirely different light.モンステラ。大きく切れ込んだ葉のフォルムは世界中で親しまれているデザインのアイコンでもありますが、この絵ではそのシルエットの力強さだけを取り込みました。
