Blue and white, pouring and scraping — this was the first painting made in the way that continues to the present.

A white ground laid down first, then blue paint poured over it and scraped back. White added partway through, then more pouring, more scraping, repeated. Searching for a worn feeling, a sense of weathering, and the particular ways blue can emerge through that process.
