"Yosemite Blue" follows "Resonance" as the second painting made in this way of working — blue poured, scraped, and left to settle on white.

While looking at the painting, the word Yosemite came to mind. I have never been there. But something in that word carries a feeling of freedom, openness, and scale — and that feeling matched what was left on the surface here, where more of the poured blue was allowed to remain than in the first painting.
