This painting — warm and bright in pink, yellow, and orange — was made on a panel previously used for another purpose. Four marks left from that earlier use were kept deliberately, absorbed into the work rather than erased.

Those four points, arrived at by chance, now hold their own quiet presence within the rhythm of the painting.
