Layer, dry, scrape. Layer again, scrape again. This painting was built through that repeated addition and subtraction — searching for the colors and forms that emerge from the process itself.

The orange crayon circles covering the surface were each scraped back, leaving every one with a slightly different presence. The yellow, white, and blue of the ground were worked the same way — building a sense of color that feels long-settled, as though it has always been there. A work from 2019, exploring the depth that accumulates through layering and removal.
